Evan Kock has a passion for getting deep inside how things are built. On the family farm he grew up in southwest Iowa, Evan saw firsthand how the building blocks of agriculture come together. Later, as a college student, he jumped into exploring how the human body is put together as he studied Kinesiology.
“I was planning to graduate with a degree in exercise science,” Evan says, “with the goal of becoming a strength coach for a school athletic program.”
Eventually, however, Evan says it was the relationships of the ag world that brought him back to his first love (even if he does still love lifting weights and running today). He graduated from Iowa State with an Agriculture Business degree and then went to work in ag retail.
Today, Evan works as a Verdesian account manager serving western Iowa – though he still finds time to farm the 1,200-acre family farm with his father. Evan is blessed with his family: wife Lindsey, daughter Addie and son Linden.
“I love how close we are in the field as a Verdesian account manager,” he says. “If one of us runs into an issue or problem, we pick up the phone and run it by two-three account managers to get their perspective. The collaboration of the field team is unique.”
