Sparkman spent 24 years with Tennessee Farmers Coop as the Marketing and Ag Technology Manager for the Agronomy Division, supporting retail customers with their seed, crop protection and plant nutrition needs. Sparkman graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agronomy and Soils and is a Certified Professional Agronomist with the American Society of Agronomy. Sparkman also serves on the International Certified Crop Advisor Board, the Tennessee Certified Crop Advisor Board and Tennessee Grassland Board. Alan resides in the Nashville, Tennessee area.

    Andrew Duff serves as Verdesian Life Sciences’ Senior VP, US Sales, Nutritionals and Polymers. Andrew is responsible for managing sales activities, management of assigned Region VPs, National Accounts, National Equipment Programs, Governmental Affairs and Special Projects with objective achievement for the Agriculture & Turf Market in the U.S. for Verdesian. Andrew leads the Commercial Senior Management Team based in the Memphis area.

    Andrew was raised on a farm in the Mississippi Delta and has a diverse background in U.S. agriculture. After leaving the family farm, Andrew attended business school at the University of Mississippi and then obtained a law degree and MBA from Mississippi College. After a few years of practicing law, his passion for agriculture led him back to the ag industry where he worked as a chemistry sales rep for Valent and then Monsanto. While at Monsanto, Andrew held positions as U.S. Corn Trait Marketing Manager, Regional Account Manager, Area Business Manager and Deltapine Marketing Manager.

    In 2013, Andrew joined Pinnacle Agriculture, a newly formed company aspiring to create a national retail and distribution business in the U.S. At Pinnacle, Andrew held leadership roles as Regional Business Director, VP of Marketing, National Sales Manager, and VP of Seed Strategy and Procurement. Most recently, Andrew led a team to create a new seed company, Mission Seed Solutions, LLC, under the Pinnacle Agriculture corporate umbrella. Today Pinnacle is the fifth largest retailer in the U.S.

    Andrew and his wife, Tracy, have two children, Brady (10) and Reagan (6) and live in the Memphis metropolitan area.

    Andy Ulmer is Technical Sales Representative for Tennessee, northern Alabama, northern Mississippi and Arkansas.

    Andy comes to Verdesian from Tennessee Farmers COOP System in west Tennessee and has worked as an agronomy specialist since 2008, where he developed and executed sales and marketing plans, handled and analyzed soil and tissue testing, developed nutrient management plans, and employee training around soil fertility, plant health, weed control and seed placement. He has also served four years as a sales agronomist with Delta Growers Association in East Prairie, MO, and eight years as a store manager and team leader with Royster Clark in Sikeston, MO.

    He is a member and past president of the Tennessee Forage and Grassland Council; a Farm Bureau board member, where he serves as New Member Chairman; the FSA Steering Committee member; and serves as an agricultural advisor to the local high school. He holds a degree in Agricultural Business from Freed Hardeman University in Henderson, TN.

    Andy was born and raised in the Bootheel of Missouri on his family’s farm. He met his wife, Carol, at college and has been married for 23 years, with three children between the ages of nine and 18.

    The Ulmers reside on a cattle farm in Perry County, TN. He spends family time enjoying rodeos and camping.

Prior to that he spent time as a Crop Consultant with Crop Production Services (CPS) in Tennessee, and also as a Loveland and Dyna-Gro Agronomist/Sales Manager with CPS in Tennessee and western Kentucky. Brandon also boasts time with BASF as an Innovation Specialist in the Mississippi Delta region, as a Loveland Proprietary Product Manager with CPS in Arkansas and Louisiana, and as a Dyna-Gro Seed Agronomist with United Agri Products in Tennessee and Mississippi.

He was assistant manager at Federated Coops prior to joining Verdesian. Growing up on the family farm, Carter has always been passionate about farming. Throughout his career at Federated Coops, he developed an interest in the science behind the products that he worked with and developed a passion for assisting farmers in utilizing these products effectively and efficiently.

    His work experience is very diverse, having worked as a commercial harvesting operator, crop consultant, and as a technical agronomist. Chris extensive experience with precision agricultural technology and recently emerging drone imaging.

    Chris holds a Doctorate in Plant Health (D.P.H.) from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. Chris went to college in Idaho; he earned his bachelor’s degree in Biology from Brigham Young University Idaho.

    While attending school in Idaho, Chris met his wife, Jill. They have been married for almost seven years and have two beautiful and rambunctious daughters – Gracie (3) and Allison (1.5). Outside of work, his hobbies and passions are outdoors. Chris is an avid hunter, fisherman and conservationist. He also loves raising game birds and waterfowl when city regulations permit it. Additionally, Chris received his private pilot’s license in 2015 and loves flying whenever he has an opportunity to do so.

    Charles “Chuck” Broughton is vice president of business development for Verdesian’s seed treatments and inoculants division in the United States and Canada. A current resident of south central Iowa, Chuck brings nearly 30 years of experience to lead the seed treatment and inoculant sales team. His position is focused on expanding a rapidly growing line of new product innovations and gaining commitment among team members to bring a creative edge to the seed treatment and inoculant market. Prior to this position, he served as the global commercial director for the DuPont Pioneer seed treatment division, where he launched seed treatments in the Americas and implemented marketing strategies on a global level. Additionally, Chuck has worked for Novozymes Bioag Group, where he led sales and marketing teams, as well as EMD Crop Bioscience, Strategic Diagnostics Inc., Meteorlogix, Pharmacia Corporation and Novartis Crop Protection.     Cody Reynolds is an account manager for western Kansas and eastern Colorado.

    Cody previous experience includes Territory Business Manager for Acadian Seaplants Limited in Dartmouth, NS, Canada, where he worked to build a market for the launch of Toggle through Winfield-United owners; educated growers, agronomists, and distribution partners; and developed a strategic marketing plan for his territory.     David Keimig is an account manager for western Illinois.

    David was born in western Illinois on a family grain and livestock farm, one of six kids. He attended Western Illinois University where he earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Ag Business. David spent 30 years in the seed and chemical industry in west-central Illinois and northwest Indiana. Most recently he worked as a Retail Account Manager with DuPont Crop Protection in Illinois, where he grew sales by 168 percent in two seasons. Prior to that, David worked as an Area Sales Manager, a Sales Effectiveness Manager, an Account Manager, and a Field Sales Agronomist with Pioneer Hi-Bred International in Indiana and Illinois.

    It was at Western Illinois where he met his wife Nancy; on Thanksgiving, they celebrated 28 years of marriage. The Keimigs have three children: Margot, Anne and Jack. In his free time, he is active in his church and coaches his kids’ teams, as well as working around the house and on his International Scout. You will often see David in red because he roots for Nebraska Cornhuskers football and St. Louis Cardinals baseball.

    Deb Johnson is Verdesian’s account manager for northeast Nebraska.

    Deb grew up on a family grain and livestock farm in Columbus, NE – a farm that is still in operation today. She parlayed that background into positions with leading agriculture companies. She comes to Verdesian after six years with DuPont Crop Protection in Omaha, NE. She originally joined DuPont as a Sales Agronomist functioning in northeast Nebraska, southeast South Dakota and southwest Minnesota. She eventually became a Technical Sales Agronomist for northeast Nebraska where she built a base of nine Pioneer Account Managers and 60 sales representatives. In this capacity, she doubled sales to $13 million. Deb also spent 13 years as a Territory Sales Lead with Syngenta in Yankton, SD, and three years as a Sales Lead Representative with Novozymes Biologicals in Omaha. She also has experience in real estate.

    Deb earned a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and also an MBA. In her free time, she enjoys riding (as a passenger) Harley-Davidsons, swimming, reading, and spending time with friends and family. She and her husband, Kelly, have a large family with whom they enjoy many sports and activities. They both have a love for the state of South Dakota.

    Eric Luce is the Technical Development Manager for the Eastern US. Eric has extensive agronomic experience in the U.S. and around the world encompassing operations management, business strategy and product development. He has been accountable for global end-to-end seeds technology investigation and implementation of agriculture seeds industry-based processes and equipment. He also provided capital strategy for prioritization and justification to successfully equip seed growing and processing sites to thrive in a safe and cost-effective environment.

    Eric worked as a Global Crop Technology Leader and a Process Safety Specialist – Global Seeds at Dow AgroSciences. Prior to working at Dow, Eric spent many years with DuPont Pioneer as a Location Production Manager in Global Parent and Pre-Commercial seeds, as well as an Assistant Location Production Manager and Senior Agronomist for commercial seed production and sales support.

    Eric earned a Bachelor of Science in General Agriculture from Southern Illinois University, his MS in Agronomy – Crop Sciences from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and an Executive Master of Business Administration from the Pioneer Institute at the Krannert School of Management, Purdue University. Eric is a Certified Professional Agronomist (CPAg) and a Certified Crop Advisor (CCA), and he is active in the American Society of Agronomy and its membership communities. His family has farmed in central Illinois for many generations.

    Greg Sanford is Verdesian Life Sciences Technical Sales Representative serving retailers and growers in Ohio and Michigan for Verdesian’s nutrient use efficiency solutions.

    Greg Sanford has been involved in production agriculture for 10 years. After graduating from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science he started out as an intern for Winfield under the regional agronomist for Michigan and Ohio running spray demo’s and plant nutrition trials. Greg spent four years in agronomy sales and management for Eaton Farm Bureau Coop in Charlotte, Michigan. Following his time their he spent five years with Winfield Untied in multiple roles with his most recent being Plant Nutrition and Performance DSM covering Michigan and Ohio. Greg has also worked in specialty crop and T&O roles focused on plant nutrition and soft chemistry.

    Greg and his wife Alysa, own and operate a small centennial family farm in Rives Junction, Michigan. They raise corn, soybeans, wheat, hay, pumpkins, squash, and a small amount of livestock as well as 5 children. Greg sits on the board of directors for the county Conservation District and has been active in the county and state Farm Bureau and his church. The family enjoys traveling and spending their summers at a family cabin on Lake Michigamme in Michigan’s upper peninsula and their days there on the beaches of Lake Superior!

    Jill grew up on a farm in Webb, which is located in northwest Iowa. She attended Iowa State University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in agriculture in 1995. She later earned her MBA in food and agribusiness from the Krannert School of Business at Purdue University. Jill has worked as a sales representative, sales trainer and district sales manager for the last 25 years – all in agriculture. JW was awarded the USDA Upward Mobility position and went on to complete a Bachelor’s of Science in Agriculture and Natural Resource Management from Washington State University. JW then became the head scientist for a Washington State reclamation district, where he led them to receive a national award in irrigation water conservation.

    Using his knowledge in the post-harvest chemical side of agriculture, JW handled four west coast states, and South America. He became a PCA, then moved his focus to CCA by 2000 and focused on crop nutrition. JW has been a crop advisor and Agronomist for more than 25 years in the United States and Canada, including work with tree fruits, nuts, grapes, row crops, field crops, nursery crops, greenhouse, organics and turf & ornamentals, even serving on the Professional Turf Managers Board of Directors for southern California.

    JW has also been a freelance writer, instructor, and speaker on plant nutrition, publishing dozens of crop nutrition articles in a wide variety of agriculture magazines. JW became involved with WRCCA (Western Region Certified Crop Advisors) Executive Board in 2015 where he has served as Secretary, Vice Chair, Chairman and now Chair Ex-Officio.  In 2016, Lemons joined the ranks of Certified Professional Agronomist (CPAg). He recently received the 2020 Western Region CCA of the year award.

    Bodensteiner serves northeast Iowa and southeast Minnesota as a technical sales representative for Verdesian. He grew up on a dairy farm in northeast Iowa and attended Iowa State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in dairy science. He started his career in the process dairy industry, where for 20 years, he worked as a quality control technician and a plant manager at various facilities across the country. Bodensteiner worked in agronomy sales for Dunkerton Co-op in Dunkerton, Iowa, and for Flint Hills Resources as an environmental, health and safety manager at their Fairbank, Iowa, ethanol plant.

    Kevin lives in Newton, IL,  and has been married to his wife, Erin, for 21 years.  The Wickhams have two boys: Jacob, a sophomore in high school, and Wade, who is in the eighth grade.     Serving as a technical development manager, seed treatments & inoculants, Kurt Seevers has spent more than 25 years in various positions, including technical services, agronomy, sales, marketing and product development. Prior to joining Verdesian in 2014, he spent the previous 10 years working with Becker Underwood, most recently as field development leader for seed treatment in the U.S. Kurt transitioned to BASF Corporation with its acquisition of Becker Underwood, working as a senior field biologist with a focus on seed treatment biologicals. Seevers holds a master’s degree in entomology from the University of Missouri. He received his bachelor’s degree, also in entomology, from the University of Nebraska.

    Lane comes to Verdesian from Growmark, Inc., where he was an Associate Product Manager in the area of Urea Ammonium Nitrate/Ammonium Thiosulfate. Prior to that he worked in product management on Anhydrous Ammonia, and also in sales support also with Growmark.

    Lane and his wife Marissa are newly relocating to Chandler, AZ, from Bloomington, IL. They each were born and raised in central Illinois with ties to agriculture instilled at a young age. They attended Illinois State University and were married in 2020. In their spare time, they enjoy being outdoors, playing golf, hiking, hunting, and spending time with family and friends.

    Luke was born and raised on a small family farm in the heart of the Willamette Valley in Dayton, OR. Upon graduation, he began his career in agriculture with Harvest Capital Company providing long-term real estate loans to farmers and ranchers in the western United States.

    Outside of work, his hobbies and passions revolve around getting his family in the outdoors. Luke and Hannah have a beautiful daughter, Rosemary, who enjoys the outdoors as much as her parents do.     Marissa joined Verdesian after spending four years also with Compass where she worked as a Strategic Accounts Manager for the West region and as a Nebraska territory manager. Prior to that she worked as a Sales Agronomist with Cargill/Crop Production Services.

    Marissa graduated from the University of Nebraska Lincoln with a bachelor’s degree in agronomy – specializing in soil science. She and her husband, Tyler, live on a small acreage in northeast Nebraska that they lovingly call the “Mannderosa.” It’s a funny farm filled with horses, chickens, dogs, and cats. When they aren’t working, Marissa and Tyler enjoy training/riding horses, fishing/hunting, spending time with their nieces/nephews, and traveling the country.

    Phillip Frost is technical development manager for Verdesian’s nutritional and plant health products in California, Arizona, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, and Colorado.

    Phil has over 20 years of experience in agricultural businesses. He founded two agricultural startups in Zimbabwe where rural farmers were taught conservation agriculture practices and food provision. He has served as director of research and development at Integrity Propagation in Chatsworth, NJ prior to joining Verdesian.

    Phil holds a Master’s in Professional Studies in International Agriculture and Rural Development and a Master’s of Science in Agronomy with a focus on Soil Health, both from Cornell University. He also earned his MBA from Oxford Brooke’s University (Damelin Administered). He enjoys serving as liaison for farmers and scientists, increasing soil and water quality and farmer returns.

    Scott Ahrenholtz is Technical Service Manager at Verdesian in the mid-west US. Based in west-central Iowa, Scott is responsible for technical training, development and researching nutritional and polymer products in the region.

    Scott is a Certified Crop Advisor, with more than 27 years of experience in the agricultural industry, 24 of those in Iowa. He has spent the majority of his career working directly with crop input suppliers, agronomists, and agricultural producers. Most recently, he served as a Regional Agronomy Sales Manager with Landus Cooperative. These combined experiences have provided him with strong agronomic, technical, and customer relationship skills. The determined application of these skills has been instrumental in his quest to advance profitable crop nutrient, crop protection, seed, and sustainable agricultural practices.

    Steve’s career in agriculture began more than 30 years ago, but his love of ag goes much deeper than that. Steve spent his time as a child shadowing his father in his role as Georgia Extension Specialist, working with farmers to achieve success in peanut production.  This passion then set Steve on a path that has crossed most of the U.S. and even into international markets.  Steve’s career path has touched on sales, marketing and business leadership.  All these years later, Steve remains committed to keeping close to his heart a statement he heard at an early stage in his career:  “The customer doesn’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.”

    Steve and his wife, Kerre, have been married almost 24 years and are blessed with four children.  Like most parents, they spend much of their spare time focused on the kids’ school and sports activities. In his other free time, he loves to play golf and is a spectator of almost all sports.
