SEED+GRAPHITE - Nutritional Seed Flow Lubricant | Verdesian

SEED+GRAPHITE®

Talc + graphite replacement with nutrients & biostimulants

Label | SDS | Sell Sheet | Order Sheet Flyer | ROI Flyer

SEED+GRAPHITE is a nutritional talc+graphite seed lubricant and the next-generation planter box solution that improves germination, crop emergence, seedling vigor, and plant tolerance to abiotic stressors, leading to higher yields.

By providing key nutrients and biostimulants directly to the seed, SEED+GRAPHITE provides agronomics that the typical talc + graphite blend cannot.

SEED+GRAPHITE is registered organic in most states and is applied like any other seed lubricant — in the seed tender or right in the planter box.

1

Talc + Graphite

for efficiency at planting

Improves flowability and reduces bridging
Dries seed and reduces static electricity

2

Micronutrients

to support seeding emergence
and a robust start

Improves emergence and seeding vigor
Supports season-long plant development

3

Biostimulants
and Metabolites

To set crops up for season-long success

Mitigates abiotic stressors
Fosters photosynthetic activity and carbohydrate production

SEED+GRAPHITE GROWER BENEFITS

  • Three key components go above and beyond conventional seed lubricants:
    • Talc + Graphite to improve seed flowability and reduce bridging
    • Nutrients to support seedling emergence and a robust start
    • Biostimulants and metabolites to improve crop tolerance to abiotic stress and improve photosynthetic activity
  • Fosters germination and early season root & shoot growth
  • Helps crop tolerance against heat, cold, drought, excess moisture and UV stressors
  • Consistent proven performance of SEED+ technology across more than 300 trials has shown a 10% yield increase on average across all treated crops
  • Apply like any other seed lubricant – in the tender or directly in the planter box

Early Season Advantages

  • Meets or exceeds seed singulation and flowability with conventional 80/20 talc + graphite
  • Improves germination and emergence from nutrient package
  • Helps increase plant tolerance to abiotic stressors like cold snaps or too much/too little water

Protection For Abiotic Stressors

COLD TEMPERATURES
Cold stress severely affects germination and seedling establishment, resulting in delayed germination, poor emergence, reduced plant density, and ultimately decreased crop production.

HOT TEMPERATURES
High-temperature stress impairs plant growth, photosynthesis, pollen development and reproduction.

EXCESS MOISTURE
Excess moisture reduces oxygen supply to roots, which limits the plant’s ability to absorb nutrients and water. Also, high moisture conditions promote disease growth, which negatively impacts yield and productivity.

DROUGHT
Drought stress suppresses and delays seed germination. It also reduces plant growth by impairing several plant processes, including photosynthesis, chlorophyll synthesis, nutrient uptake, translocation and metabolism, as well as carbohydrate synthesis.

UV RADIATION
Excessive UV radiation reduces photosynthesis, resulting in decreased crop productivity. The net effect is to slow plant growth, reducing carbon assimilation, which will ultimately limit crop growth and development.

HEAR WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

There’s a couple reasons I would recommend Seed Plus Graphite. First, yield response I’ve seen from it. Overall yield response has been good The other reason I would recommend it is just the price point and the performance guarantee that Verdesian offers really takes away the stress, the risk for a grower to put that product on his field.

It singulated well compared to other products that we’ve tried. The planter that we used is a 48 row corn planter, and so it has to blow that corn seed quite a long way, 60 feet each way. Seed Plus traveled well down those tubes, 60 feet each way, singulated just as good as anything else. And the emergence and jumpstart it had, you could visually see, and net six bushel at the end, obviously is the icing on the cake there.

One of my growers I went out in the field with, just by a month before harvest and we dug some roots and we saw a pretty big difference, very visible to the naked eye. The difference and the root size with Seed Plus Graphite. And we also did a yield check at that point and saw a good advantage there too.

They’ll use it next year. I don’t foresee anybody who ran it this year, not using it next year. And I think our sales will continue to grow and we’ve taken this product and put it in the hands of our seed team who solely focuses on our lineup of seed that we sell our treatments that we work with.

I decided to give it a try because I heard at the rate of return for it was very good. So, even if you consider I had a couple of bushel yield increase over my previous couple of years, even if one bushel, you’re looking at a 4:1 rate of return right there due to the SEED+ Graphite.

Growers love how the seed goes through their planter, that they didn’t have to worry about that process of getting their seed coated. They had no planting issues as far as breaking of the seeds and the lubrication of the planter, cause the product did a great job. They loved that product.

Most of the Seed Plus Graphite I sold in this prior year was on soybeans that we had treated and we treat probably close to 98% of the units that we sell. And of that 98%, I think we treated 100% of ’em with SEED+ Graphite. They like that they don’t have to deal with the talc or the graphite. It’s already on the seed. All they do is take their seed, put it in the planter and start planting.

The one thing I have seen is this colder weather, colder, wet soils. You seem to get a better stand. And uniform stand and getting even emergence and anything you can do to help that out. It’s a win-win scenario.
