For turf, key nutrients result in a healthy appearance

When it comes to turf, appearance is king. A healthy appearance is a sign of good plant health. And the key to all that is a robust nutrient management plan.

A good nutrient management plan ensures in season nutrient availability, accessibility, and assimilation, helping crops better tolerate stress and disease and achieve optimal growth.

Verdesian Life Sciences has long believed in producing technologies that complement a healthy nutrient management plan for your turf offerings.

Nutri-Grow® Magnum with N-Riched Technology®

All plants species, including turf, have developed over time a way to survive and reproduce in nitrogen-rich and nitrogen-poor soils, indicating that plants have and use a nitrogen (N) management system to manage their current N environment. Nutri-Grow Magnum with N-Riched Technology includes the Los Alamos discovered and developed technology that helps drive increased N uptake and N and carbon (C) metabolism. The result of that? Increased growth and nutrient use efficiency of applied nutrients.

Illustrated below, the application of Nutri-Grow Magnum with N-Riched Technology initially increases N (and other nutrients) and proportional C uptake assimilation and metabolism. Increased metabolism –the processing of plant nutrients – results in increased output of the multiple plant-building metabolites such as amino acids, proteins, lipids and carbohydrates. This leads to increased plant growth as this uptake assimilation and metabolism cycle continues throughout the season for a healthy and great looking turf.

Fungi-Phite®

With the worldwide increase in fungicide-resistant pathogen strains, turf management with Fungi-Phite is a crucial component in your turf care arsenal. Fungi-Phite is a fast-acting premium phosphite fungicide proven to fight multiple soil and fungal pathogens such as Phytophthora, Pythium and Downy mildew.

The proprietary stabilization of Fungi-Phite, developed at the University of California, Riverside by Professor Carol Lovatt, allows Fungi-Phite to be applied in conjunction with most standard crop protection tank mix combinations. This includes cations such as copper, zinc and manganese—the proprietary stabilization demonstrated in the following clip shows where a 5-percent copper solution is added to a wide range of non-stabilized-phosphites that immediately precipitate out of solution rendering them ineffective as expensive individual and tank mix components. This is because the highly negatively charged Phosphite Anion is immediately and inexorably drawn to the positive changed Metal Cation, resulting in oxidation and fixation and ineffectual in its intended purpose as a crop protection tool.

If you are intent on making sure your turf looks healthy because it IS healthy, consider the Verdesian solutions Nutri-Grow Magnum with N-Riched Technology and Fungi-Phite. Give your turf the robust and comprehensive nutrient plan it deserves.

You know Phosphorus is essential to the success of your crops. You also know how hard it can be to keep Phosphorus where it’s applied. Being one of the three necessary macronutrients vital to plant health (Nitrogen and Potassium being the other two), you want to see 100% nutrient intake when you spend time and […]

Farm and family life are inextricably linked to Dan Crossley. After all, the lifelong Idaho native was raised on the family farm – where he learned the jobs and the value of hard work by his wonderful parents. It was on that farm where Dan learned to milk cows, build and repair fences, haul hay […]

It shouldn’t be surprising that someone whose career and education focused on crop physiology, plant nutrition, root biology and more would go to work every single day with a goal of developing ag breakthroughs. Amy Burton does just that.
