Sergio Melloni
VP, South America and Latin America
Sergio Melloni is a seasoned agricultural leader with more than three decades of experience advancing biologicals and nutrient use efficiency solutions across Latin and South America. As Vice President, South America and Latin America at Verdesian Life Sciences, he is responsible for expanding Verdesian’s portfolio and presence across key markets, including Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay and Bolivia, while leading regional strategy, growth and customer engagement.
Since joining Verdesian in 2018, Sergio has played a pivotal role in building the company’s South America organization from the ground up, assembling a high-performing team focused on sharing the story and impact of nutrient use efficiency with growers and partners throughout the region.
Prior to Verdesian, he spent more than 25 years in leadership roles within the biologicals sector, including overseeing the commercial biological business in South America at Monsanto and leading Novozymes’ regional biological businesses as general manager, with responsibilities spanning commercial, financial and marketing functions.
Sergio brings deep expertise in biological crop inputs, nutrient use efficiency technologies and regional go-to-market strategy, with a track record of building teams and businesses that deliver sustainable value for growers. He holds a degree in Agribusiness and a master’s degree in Economics.
Born in Buenos Aires, Sergio spent his early years between Argentina and Italy, and still manages his family’s calf farm in the Argentinian pampas—keeping him closely connected to the producers Verdesian serves.
