Jesus Toro
Technical Development Manager, West
Jesus brings a background in agronomy and crop nutrition with experience in specialty crop production, grower advising, field research, technical development, and stakeholder engagement. His experience includes work with almonds, pistachios, grapes, processing tomatoes and figs, with emphasis on plant nutrition, nitrogen management, irrigation and field-based product evaluation.
He has coordinated agronomic research and field trials, developed crop nutrition recommendations with growers and PCAs, and worked across commercial, university, and R&D environments to translate field data into practical management strategies. His graduate research at California State University, Fresno focuses on almond phenology, nitrogen accumulation, thermal time and nitrogen-use efficiency.
Jesus holds a bachelor’s degree in plant science with an emphasis in crop production and will complete his master’s degree this fall. He is also a Certified Crop Adviser with a California Nitrogen Management Specialty.
Outside of work, Jesus is married with three kids, coaches competitive youth soccer and enjoys hunting, fishing and trying local dishes when he travels.
