Of the Phosphorus purchased and applied, up to only 25% of it could be available to the plant. Phree-uP™ increases mineralization of fixed and active Phosphorus in the soil unlocking additional availability and improving uptake and efficiency. How does Phree-uP work?

Phree-uP operates through a multifaceted approach to enhance soil phosphorus availability and optimize plant uptake. It functions by pulling in cations already within the soil, which slows down the adsorption and precipitation of applied phosphorus reducing fixation. This interaction ensures that the phosphorus remains in a more accessible form for plants to utilize.

Additionally, Phree-uP stimulates microbial activity in the soil, particularly enhancing the activity of acid phosphatase enzymes. This enhancement accelerates the release of phosphorus from mineral compounds, increasing its availability for plant uptake. The synergistic impact of these processes culminates in heightened phosphorus efficiency and amplified crop productivity, thereby optimizing agricultural yields while simultaneously mitigating the environmental footprint associated with phosphorus application.

Phree-uP is intended to be applied with phosphorus fertilizer to use both pieces of the dual component effectively. There is a rate on the label for high-phosphorus soils that do not receive a phosphorus application but other granular fertilizer. Results may vary from published Phree-uP results. Reach out to your Verdesian specialist for recommendations that fit your needs.

Application of Treated Fertilizer

Phree-uP treated phosphate fertilizers should be applied to the soil in the same manner as phosphate fertilizers without Phree-uP. Contact your Verdesian Account Manager for specific questions on equipment and treating needs.

Rates:

Phosphorus-based fertilizer applications.

Granular phosphate fertilizers: Apply Phree-uP at a rate of 2.0-2.5 U.S. quarts per ton of granular phosphate fertilizers. Follow all handling and blending recommendations.

Liquid phosphate fertilizers: Apply Phree-uP at 2 U.S. quarts per 100 gallons of fertilizer (0.5% v/v), given the vast variety of fertilizer sources a jar test is recommended.

Fertilizer blends not containing phosphorus fertilizers.

For applications to HIGH PHOSPHORUS SOILS only, apply Phree-uP to non-phosphate fertilizer sources or blends at a rate of 2 U.S> quarts per ton, with a minimum granular fertilizer application rate of 100 lbs. per acre.
